With its inaugural issue being shown off last week, I planned for a monthly release of the Edinburgh & Glasgow magazine. Although I would eventually only create three issues (with an unfinished fourth), I did enjoy coming up with wacky storylines for the titular trio – and others – to get involved in, as well as writing and drawing all the things ‘sent’ in to the mailbox.
The second issue introduces two ‘new’ characters, Leith and Paisley, who were the series’ first female characters and were hinted at in the first issue. The comic story, Not Without My Festival, had actually been an idea I’d had churning around for some time prior to beginning the magazine, where Glasgow, driven by jealousy for Edinburgh, decides to ‘steal’ his Festival and set it up as his own.
In this issue:
- New character profiles – Leith & Paisley
- Origins of the kilt
- Name that Scottish Town!
- Gotta Get to the Festival!
- Comic: Not Without My Festival
- Scottish Cross-Ladder
- Picture Panic!
- Next time…
