Independence Day 2019

Happy Fourth of July to all my American readers and followers! I just hope your country can get out of its nightmare soon enough and once again become a good dream. 🇺🇸

American Independence Day 2017

A very happy 241st birthday to the great big nation of the United States of America! 🇺🇸

Here’s a gallery containing some of the American-themed artworks which I didn’t include in my previous post celebrating the Fourth of July:

Independence Day: Land and Art of the Brave and Free

Happy Independence Day – or more specifically, American Independence Day! Every 4th of July in the United States is celebrated as their day of independence, marking the date of the 4th of July 1776, when the Declaration of Independence (from Britain) was signed by John Adams, Thomas Jefferson, Benjamin Franklin (who discovered electricity by flying a kite in a thunderstorm) and John Hancock, whose signature on the document is perhaps the most well-known (his name has become a synonym for somebody’s signature in the US). Today is the 240th Independence Day, and those 240 years – as well as all past and future 4th of Julies – has, have and will been celebrated with American patriotism, fireworks, barbecue parties and parades.

As previously mentioned, one series of my creation, American Boys, is the Stateside version of its Brit predecessor Britain Boys, so what better way to celebrate America’s birthday than with an exhibition of all my Stars-and-Stripes-themed artworks?

I had also drawn up an American Boys comic book about the celebration of Independence Day back in July 2009. Details about the story will be explained in a future exhibition.
